Payment

Payment is due upon completion of service. For first time clients we require cash OR credit card payment; no checks. Repeat clients may pay by cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express).  We do NOT carry cash to provide change.  Please have the proper amount available for payment.

Cancellations

Cancellations happen and we understand schedules sometimes change.  If you must cancel we ask that you give as much notice as possible. Chronic cancellations may result in the inability to book future appointments and a cancellation fee up to the amount of the grooming.  Cancellations within 24 hours of appointment time are subject to a $20.00 fee.  In the event of incliment weather, we may have to reschedule your appointment.  Please be aware that we are a mobile service and cannot safely drive on icy or slick roads or in deep snow.

No Shows

If we arrive and are not able to access your home or pet, you may be subject to a trip fee of up to $20.00. Habitual no shows may be subject to a fee up to the price of the grooming and may no longer be able to schedule future appointments.

Temperament

If your pet has any history of biting, we require notification of this.  The possibility of biting will NOT affect whether we may try to groom your pet, but it can help prevent injury.  If your pet has some behavior issues, we will be happy to do what we can to help work through them.

Our groomers have extensive experience with fearful and aggressive dogs, teaching them with gentle handling and loving care that grooming can be enjoyable. Please let us know prior to the appointment if your pet needs some special handling so that we can schedule sufficient time to meet these needs. If this special care requires more than an extra half hour of time there may be a special handling fee to account for the extra time spent.  *We will NOT groom any pets that have been sedated in any manner within 6 hours prior to the groom.*

Vaccination Requirements

Rabies vaccination is required for all pets receiving service over 6 months of age. We understand that small dogs may not be able to handle the vaccine until a later age, or may be completely intolerant of the vaccine. For these cases, we must speak with your vet to verify that there is a medical reason that your pet is not vaccinated. We will also accept titer tests done within 6 months of service.

Health

If your pet has any medical problems, we ask to be made aware of them (i.e. seizures, arthritis, collapsing trachea, etc.) so that we may take whatever steps needed to keep your pet comfortable during the grooming process. We reserve the right to refuse service should the pet's condition require the supervision of a veterinarian, and will happily refer you to veterinary groomers in your area.

Injury

Although accidents are exceptionally rare, there is always a minute risk when working on a pet. Because of that Topeka Area Grooming Services would like to make you aware of our policies and procedures in the event of an incident.  Our promise to you is that any incident will be reported to the owner immediately.  If necessary we will transport your pet to a veterinarian.  Any veterinary bills resulting from a pet being matted, senior, or from a pre-existing or unforeseeable condition will be the sole responsibility of the owner. Safety is our number one concern. We believe in honoring the trust you’ve given us by returning it to
you.

There is a copy of the policy form available here for each new client to fill out and sign. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with this form, and feel free to print it if you'd like to be prepared prior to your first appointment. Repeat clients do not need to fill out this form as long as we have it on file. Please notify us if your veterinarian changes as we will need a new form with their information. Please keep the policies (page 1) for your records and return your signed agreement (page 2) to us.
